Street Library

Graeme recycles old fence pailings to build Street Library boxes. He cleaned up the old timbers by putting them through our thicknesser and they came up beautifully.

Finished products were so good he has orders for up to 10 more. Unfortunately the old fence timbers have all been used, so it will be interesting to see his new efforts.

Street Library is an Australian based free library movement that encourages literacy and community spirit. The ‘library’ itself is a small weatherproof box that can be mounted in front yards, to enable people to share books. The Street Library’s motto is –

“Take a Book, Give a Book, Share a Book”

Well done Graeme.
